Full Circle: My Family's Personal Journey

When it happens to you it seems like part of your soul is missing. It feels as though your body has been packed full of weights and to move it takes every bit of energy you can summon. Your face tends to stay red and swollen from constant tears. The numbness resounds from the top of your head to the tip of your toes. Your body wants to eat, but your stomach won’t let it. People may speak to you, but you can’t really hear what they’re saying.She was someone who was always there for me. Someone I could talk to, laugh with, cry with, no matter what the circumstance. I could count on her to be the one that would bring me back to earth. She taught me the importance of being a lady and to hold my head high even in the worst of times, “never let them see you sweat,” she would say. Any time I needed to talk she was either a phone call or a visit away. She was always there for advice, but not to judge. She was my mother. When the tables were turned and she needed me more than I needed her, my life changed forever. If you have dealt with a similar situation you will understand why I feel it’s so important to tell you our story.
